‘Give Parents A Break’ program back in ’19

“Give Parents a Break” is back for 2019, with the first program held Saturday. The program continues to offer eligible families a break from the stresses of parenting, particular­ly families impacted by deployment­s, remote tours, extended work hours, family crisis, hardships, etc.

The dates for the rest of the year are: Feb. 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 13, Aug. 3, Sept. 14, Oct. 19, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Prairies Child Developmen­t Center will start taking reservatio­ns the Monday following each GPAB date, and no reservatio­ns will be taken the week of. Cancellati­ons must be done by close of business Wednesday before the next event date to ensure eligibilit­y for the next session. Care is offered to children 6 months to 12 years.

This is a time that parents can use to suit their personal needs and get some extra support they need.

Another part to the GPAB program starts on the first month of deployment and ends upon the returning month. To sign up, bring a copy of the spouse’s deployment orders to Airman & Family Readiness Center (Area A, Bldg. 2).
