Food pantry opens to help local veterans in need

To help veterans in need, the Dayton VA Medical Center, in partnershi­p with the Dayton Foodbank, has opened a food pantry at the Dayton VA Medical Center campus inside Bldg. 305.

The purpose of this event is to address hunger within the veteran community. Veterans do not have to be currently enrolled with the VA to take advantage of this service. The next date of food pantry operation is Jan. 22.

Veterans are advised to bring a photo ID and a copy of their DD-214 to utilize the food pantry. Need is determined by income guidelines set by the Dayton Foodbank. For more informatio­n, call 937-267-3307.
