Meet Jess Montgomery

- STAFF REPORT

Meet local author Jess Montgomery in the lobby of Centerville Library (111 W. Spring Valley Road) on Monday from 1-3 p.m.

Montgomery is the author of the Kinship Historical Mysteries and copies of “The Widows,” the first novel in her series, will be available for purchase. Montgomery is a pen name of Sharon Short, newspaper columnist with the Dayton Daily News, executive director of the Antioch Writers’ Workshop at University of Dayton, and an adjunct mentor in the Seton Hill University Low-Residency Writing Popular Fiction M.F.A. Program. “The Widows” has received strong reviews and is a gripping historical mystery about two women whose lives collide when the man they both love is murdered. It was inspired by the true story of Ohio’s first sheriff, Maude Collins, and prominent labor and community organizer Mary Harris “Mother” Jones.
