Road trip to view birds
Join Greene County Parks & Trails on a field trip to Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 23, to view the birds —- waterfowl to raptors to songbirds—- that spend the winter in Ohio.
Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area offers 9,230 acres of grassland, woods, wetlands, marshes and ponds approximately eight miles south of Upper Sandusky in north-central Ohio.
The trip — hosted by GCP&T staff naturalists — will begin and end at the Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Road, Beavercreek. This year, the field trip has been extended to the evening hours that will offer an opportunity to see short-eared owls.
Lunch and dinner will be provided; dress for the weather and bring binoculars. Cost is $50 per participant, with preregistration required.
