Updates made to the main level of this brick-and-cedar, two-story home were completed with hardwood flooring throughout. A full, semifinished basement could add to the floor space option of this Brookville home.

Listed for $250,000 by Better Homes and Gardens Big Hill Real Estate, the twostory at 846 Flanders Ave. in the Arlington Woods subdivision has about 2,315 square feet of living space. In addition to the rough-cut, threequarter-inch wood flooring throughout the main level, the renovations also include the kitchen and half bathroom.

Sitting on a corner lot at the entrance to the subdivision, the property has a tree-lined back yard that backs up to the community pond. A paver-brick patio is off the breakfast room, and a paver-brick walkway leads from the driveway to the front door.

Formal entry opens into

the foyer where the richly colored wood flooring starts and continues to flow within the others areas of the first floor. The formal spaces have wall-treatments that create a wainscoting effect.

The room to the left is the formal living room, which is currently set up as an office. The room to the right is the formal dining room, which has wainscoting, lighted wall sconces and a hanging light fixture. All the ceiling light fixtures have been updated with many of them having crystal accents.

The staircase to the second level is semi open with a painted white railing that complements the dark wood steps that match the wood flooring.

A hallway leads from the foyer to the back of the house, which has the family room that flows into the kitchen. Flooring treatment separates the family room from the kitchen and breakfast area as the family room has neutral carpeting.

A gas fireplace has ceramic accents and a wood beam mantel. The fireplace has been extended to the ceiling with wood slat boards, making the fireplace the centerpiece for the two rooms.

Tucked back into the opposite side is the U-shaped kitchen with painted cabinetry and granite countertops. The two-level peninsula counter offers breakfast bar seating and work space with a double-sink and storage. Mosaic glass accents the wall space between cabinets and countertops, and the kitchen comes equipped with range, dishwasher and microwave. There is a small pantry closet.

A bay-like bump-out creates a breakfast room, which has an artwork nook and shelves. A single door opens off the breakfast room outside to the paver-brick patio. Another door from the breakfast nook opens to the two-car garage that has pull-down overhead storage.

A half bathroom is off the kitchen and has been updated with wood flooring, slateboard wall accents, a bureau vanity with solid-surface sink and matching mirror and light fixtures.

Another door from the kitchen opens into the basement stairwell. The full basement has been semi-finished as rooms have been divided and have drywall. The poured concrete flooring is still exposed as is some of the floor beams in a couple of rooms.

The stairwell ends is what could be a divided recreation space. Off the larger room is a bonus room, which has a closet. This space offers access to a possible fifth bedroom as the room has a closet and an egress window.

Unfinished space houses the mechanical systems, which were updated in 2016 and included an electro-static air cleaner. A wash sink and the laundry hook-ups are also in this part of the basement.

Four bedrooms and two full bathrooms are on the second level. The main bedroom suite has a hardwood floor and a walk-in closet that also has laundry hook-ups. The private bathroom features a double-sink vanity and a tub/shower.

Two bedrooms and a second full bath are on the opposite side of the staircase. One bedroom has a storage nook and walk-in closet while the other two bedrooms have double-door closets.
