Locals Legend, Chappelle up for Grammys at today’s show
Two local celebrities have a stake in the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, which air tonight.
The live staging of “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,” starring Springfield’s John Legend, was nominated in the Best Musical Theater Album category.
Legend has won 10 Grammy Awards so far.
Last year, Yellow Springs’ own Dave Chappelle won his first Grammy in the Best Comedy Album category for “The Age of Spin & Deep in the Heart of Texas.”
He’s been nominated again this year in the same category for his album “Equanimity & the Bird Revelation.”
Keep in mind that many of the award presentations don’t air on the live TV broadcast.
