Brick ranch has bonus rooms with options
Back patio creates semi-private courtyard setting.
Two additions made to the original floor plan give this remodeled brick ranch a variety of living arrangement options.
Listed for $255,000 by Irongate Inc. Realtors, the ranch at 346 Shady-wood Drive has about 3,100 square feet of living space. The house sits on a corner lot along a culde-sac within the Mintwood Estates of Clayton.
A side-entry garage has an updated overhead door and automatic opener. The back yard has a privacy fence, and the large side yard has a tree line for privacy and a picket fence. There are two concrete patios, one of which is tucked between the additions, allowing for a semi-private courtyard setting.
Inside, renovations to the kitchen, bathrooms, living room, dining room and family room were finished in 2014. Light fixtures, wood flooring, built-in cabinetry and a couple of windows were newly installed. The dual heating and cooling systems were replaced in 2015 and have a variable-speed air handler.
Formal entry opens into a foyer with dark hardwood flooring that continues throughout most of the house. To the right is the bedroom wing, and to the left is the formal dining room with a bay window and wood-trim accents.
A dual-side, wood-burning fireplace divides the living room and the family room as both rooms can enjoy the fireplace. Both sides of the fireplace have been redesigned with brush nickel mantel and texture tile. Double doors on either side of the fireplace allow for walking space between the two rooms.
The textured tile and brush nickel accents continue into the kitchen, which is open to the living room but separated by flooring treatment as the kitchen has tile flooring. Dark cabinets complement the dark flooring of the living room and provide plenty of storage, including a pantry and an island, both having pull-out shelves.
The island has seating for four and a sparkle granite countertop. The countertops are light with a hint of nickel accents. The backsplash is glass tiles, and stainless-steel appliances include a range, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. The double sink is below a window.
Tucked off the kitchen is a laundry room, a half bathroom and access to the oversized, two-car garage, which has a separate storage room.
Patio doors from the living room open to a rear patio. Patio doors off the family room open into a recreation room, which has a woodbeam accented, vaulted ceiling. There are patio doors that open to the courtyard patio.
Three or four bedrooms are off the hallway. One room has contemporary built-in executive desks, shelves and drawers and textured tile flooring. The rest of the bedrooms have wood flooring, including the main bedroom.
The main bedroom has a walk-in closet with built-in drawers and shelves. The private bathroom features a bureau vanity with two bowl sinks, a whirlpool tub with hand shower and mosaic glass surround, a walk-in shower, linen cabinet and chandelier. The bedroom has access to a bonus room, which has a vaulted ceiling, built-in desk and shelves, and a patio door that opens to the courtyard.
