Man charged in accidental shooting
A Cleveland man is accused of accidentally shooting and killing a husband and father of six outside New West Tech High School.
Cleveland.com reports Carlos Diaz-Reyes is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the Aug. 30 fatal shooting of Edwin Rios.
The shooting happened about 8 p.m. outside the school. Diaz-Reyes was holding a gun that went off, hitting Rios in the chest. Rios was taken to MetroHealth, where he died. DiazReyes fled after the shooting.
Diaz-Reyes was sentenced in 2012 to three years in prison for aggravated burglary and domestic violence. He has also been convicted of carrying concealed weapons and unauthorized use of a car.
