Aubrey Plaza is host for this year’s edition of an awards show honoring work in movies that were made principally outside the studio system. That means some of this year’s most high-profile nominees at the following night’s Academy Award ceremonies — such as “Black Panther,”“A Star Is Born” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” — are ineligible for this competition.
