The city of Dayton is seeking interested community volunteers to support the revitalization of the North Main Street corridor and surrounding neighborhoods.
The North Main Street Corridor Plan was adopted by the City Commission in December 2018. It outlines eight areas of concern related to North Main Street and associated neighborhoods:
1. Crime & safety
2. Housing & blight
3. Traffic & pedestrian safety
4. Land use and zoning
5. Economic development
6. Citizen engagement & neighborhood development
7. Social services, education & recreation
8. Architecture & preservation. To help implement and guide the plan, steering committees will be formed for each focus area. Volunteers and stakeholders with an interest are encouraged to contact either of the following City staff members by June 7, 2019:
Rachel Bankowitz at rachel. bankowitz@daytonohio.gov or 937-333-4271; or Chido Baker at chidochashe.baker@daytonohio. gov or 937-333-3302.
