‘Game of Thrones’ series finale packs a punch
Don’t miss: “Game of Thrones” — The end is here. After eight tumultuous — and highly watchable — seasons packed with political intrigue, dragon fire, ice zombies, gore galore and one misplaced coffee cup, the twisted fantasy series concludes with an 80-minute series finale. And the question remains: Who will sit on the Iron Throne? Who really wants to? … And does the Iron Throne even still exist after last week’s fiery carnage in King’s Landing? We have no idea what will go down, but we desire happy endings for all of our favorites who are still breathing. (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO).

Sunday: It’s that time again. “American Idol” crowns another wannabe pop star tonight. Will the winner go on to have a Kelly Clarkson-like career? Or are we thinking more like Taylor Hicks? (8 p.m., ABC).
Sunday: In the closing installment of “Les Miserables,” Marius mans the barricades, where a hostile Valjean intercepts him. And no, they do not perform “Do You Hear the People Sing?” (9 p.m., PBS).
Monday: “Norman Mineta and his Legacy: An American Story” is a profile of the San Jose, Califborn statesman and trailblazer. After being imprisoned by the U.S. during World War II for his Japanese ancestry, he eventually was elected to Congress and went on to become the first Asian American to serve in a presidential cabinet. (9 p.m., PBS).
Tuesday: On the Season 16 finale of “NCIS,” former FBI Agent Tobias Fornell ( Joe Spano) urges Gibbs to do whatever is necessary to take down drug dealers in the area after his daughter, Emily ( Juliette Angelo), suffers an opiate overdose. (8 p.m., CBS).
Tuesday: After singing their hearts out all season, the finalists on “The Voice” will learn which one of them earned most of America’s votes — but not before being forced to sweat it out through a bloated two-hour finale. (9 p.m., NBC).
Wednesday: “Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s All in the Family and The Jeffersons” is the extremely long title for a special in which current stars re-create episodes of the classic sitcoms. Participants include Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington. (8 p.m., ABC).
Thursday: As “Elementary” begins its seventh and final season, Holmes and Watson are still in London, serving as consultants for Scotland Yard. Their latest case takes them inside the tabloid journalism industry when a popular model is the victim of an acid attack. (10 p.m., CBS).
Thursday: “The Red Nose Day Special” delivers musical performances and comedic sketches to raise money and change lives for children in need. The list of performers includes Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Kate McKinnon, Milo Ventimiglia, Jane Lynch and many more. (8 p.m., NBC).
Friday: As Season 2 of Spike Lee’s “She’s Gotta Have It” begins, free-spirited artist Nola Darling is struggling with newfound success. Will she remain true to her creative ideals or give in to the corporate world? (Netflix).
Friday: On the season finale of “Dynasty,” members of the Carrington family find themselves making the ultimate decision between preserving their legacies and protecting their personal relationships. Of course, dark secrets from the past resurface. (8 p.m., The CW).
Saturday: On the season 3 finale of “Ransom,” Cynthia and her younger brother, Tyler, are abducted by a criminal Tyler’s indebted to, forcing the team to break some rules in order to find them. (9 p.m., CBS).
