IN THE COMPANY OF FRIENDS: THE KETTERING AND PATTERSON LEGACY: Noon to 5 p.m. today, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dayton Art Institute, 456 Belmonte Park, N., Dayton. Exhibition explores the contributi­ons of Kettering and Patterson through the lens of the Chinese scholar collector, presenting a variety of artworks that may have been part of a scholar’s life and raising the broader question of just what it means to collect. Spotlight on Impression­ism in France and Claude Monet’s remarkable influence on art. Features 13 paintings with the focal point of the exhibition being Monet’s spectacula­r painting Waterloo Bridge (Effect de soleil), 1903. Additional loaned works also on display. “THE TIMELINE SHOW” YELLOW SPRINGS THEATER-PAST TO PRESENT: 6 to 8:30 p.m. today through Saturday at John Bryan Community Center, 2nd Floor, 100 Dayton St., Yellow Springs. Show runs through June 30. Featuring a private collection of Center Stage head shots by Ron Siemer. David Neuhardt has created a Yellow Springs Theater Timeline. Show may be seen from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mon.-Sun.
