Washington Twp. $399,900

Surrounded by mature trees along a creek on oneand-a-half acres within a pocket neighborhood of Washington Twp., this Cape Cod seems like something from a storybook with a wood-shingle roof, stone walls, paver brick patios, circular driveway and a bridge over a creek.

Listed for $399,900 by Domescik and Associates Inc., the home at 210 Colonial Way has about 2,162 square feet of living space. The house is one of three buildings on the 1.5-acre, corner property with the other two being two-car garages. One building has a two-car garage with carwash and a concrete roof that could be used as a patio. The second building has a two-car garage with a twobay workshop and storage rooms.

A staircase between the two garages leads up to a separate entrance to an upstairs workshop or hobby room which has water, heat and ventilation. There is a concrete driveway to the garage doors; to the side is a wood-burning fireplace and large paver-brick patio with stone walls and garden accents.

A brick walkway leads from the paver patio to the main residence. The front of the house has a four-season sun room with a ceramic tile floor and walls of windows. French doors open from the sun room into an A-frame great room.

A stone wood-burning fireplace is the centerpiece of the room and the cathedral ceiling shows off wood cross beams. An open staircase leads up from the great room to a balcony above the fireplace.

An entrance to a multipurpose room is off the balcony. The room is listed as a bedroom and has a wall of built-in drawers and shelves, a closet, windows and a private entrance that opens out to the side yard and stone pathway.

Back on the main level, toward the back of the great room is the entrance to the updated, eat-in kitchen. Solid-surface countertops and white cabinetry fill three walls of the kitchen. A large sink is below a bay window, and there is a buffet counter with glass rack and glass-panel hanging cabinets. An arched cutout with ceramic-tile backsplash accents the multiburner cooktop. There is a wall oven and a pantry cabinet near the refrigerator nook. An island has the dishwasher and seating for four people.

French doors open from the dining room out to a courtyard patio that is surrounded by a stone wall.

Off the great room to one side is a half bath and breezeway nook. Off the opposite side is a hallway that leads to the main bedroom and a full bathroom. The bedroom has three closets, a wall of windows and ceramic tile flooring. The bath is accessible from the hallway and has a tub/ shower, single-sink vanity with make-up desk and a large linen closet.

Two separate doors off the hallway open up to hidden staircases. One leads down to the two-car, attached garage with two separate storage bays. The other staircase leads up to a third bedroom which has dormer window nooks and several closets.

A partial, semi-finished basement is accessible from the sun room. The basement has laundry hook-ups and storage areas. The house has radiant hot-water heat and wall air conditioning units.
