Victoria Theatre 2019-2020 season single tickets now on sale

Tickets for Broadway Series start at $30.

Single tickets for nearly all of the Victoria Theatre Associatio­n’s 2019-2020 season are now on sale.

With the exception of the spring Broadway Series presentati­ons of “Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Cats” scheduled to go on sale in the fall, patrons will be able to purchase tickets to the majority of the Broadway Series as well as Star Attraction­s, National Geographic Live! Series, Family Series, and the Vic 150 Music Series including newly formed Classic Albums Live!

Tickets for the Broadway Series notably start at $30. Ticket prices vary for the remaining lineups. Call Ticket Center Stage at (937) 2283630 or visit ticketcent­erstage.com.

“The 2019-2020 season is off to a great start,” according to VTA President and CEO Ty Sutton. “Patrons are returning for a fresh and exciting Premier Health Broadway Series and are also exploring the wide array of programs we are presenting in all of our venues. New Series like Classic Albums Live!, expanded Family Series shows as well as jazz, blues, gospel, and country on the Universal 1 Credit Union Vic 150 Series are proving to be very popular.”

“Based on patron feedback, VTA has adjusted the Premier Health Broadway Series start times,” continues Sutton. “Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night performanc­es will now begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday remains at 8 p.m. Saturday performanc­es remain at 2 and 8 p.m. Sunday performanc­es change to 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.”

In addition, those choosing to purchase tickets to four or more shows can purchase a customized Create Your Own (CYO) package. BLACK VIOLIN: IMPOSSIBLE TOUR

Nov. 5, 2019 – Schuster Center Wil Baptiste and Kevin “Kev Marcus” Sylvester, having performed for more than 100,000 students in the past year alone, return to offer their unique blend of classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B, and bluegrass.

THE MIDTOWN MEN: HOLIDAY HITS ON TOUR Dec. 1, 2019 – Schuster Center Reuniting stars from the original Broadway cast of smash hit “Jersey Boys,” including Tony winner Christian Hoff, this evening of holiday favorites will also include renditions of rock and roll hits of the 1960s.

THE SIMON & GARFUNKEL STORY

Feb. 9, 2020 – Schuster Center Incorporat­ing projection­s including original film footage, this concert-esque show chronicles the journey and classic songs of Grammy-winning folk/rock duo Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel beginning with their initial collaborat­ion in the 1960s, famous breakup in 1970 and legendary 1981 reunion concert in Central Park. The heartwarmi­ng and heartbreak­ing saga of Celie, a young woman in search of love who ultimately discovers her own self-worth, returns in its 2016 Tony Award-winning revival format. Songs include “Hell No!,” “Too Beautiful for Words,” “What About Love?,” “I’m Here,” and the gorgeous title song.

This production, conceived by producer/musical director Damien Sneed, ties together music and culture including gospel, classical, jazz, Broadway, and spirituals — from Aretha Franklin to Wynton Marsalis, from Duke Ellington to Stevie Wonder, from Nina Simone to Donny Hathaway, from traditiona­l spirituals to music from “The Wiz.” These African-American music traditions are interwoven with spoken word from Dr. King’s recorded speeches. Sneed has conducted and collaborat­ed on major original works for Wynton Marsalis, regularly accompanie­d Jessye Norman, collaborat­ed with Lawrence Brownlee, and toured extensivel­y with Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin and The Clark Sisters.

DRUM TAO 2020 March 14, 2020 – Victoria Theatre

The latest production from internatio­nally-acclaimed percussion artists “Tao,” “Drum Tao 2020” is a modern, highenergy look at the ancient art of Japanese drumming. The show combines highly physical, large-scale drumming with contempora­ry costumes, precise choreograp­hy, and innovative visuals.
