Memorial services, funerals and burials have been scheduled for four of the nine victims killed by a gunman in an Oregon District mass shooting early Sunday.
Monica E. Brickhouse, 39
A native of Springfield, Monica Brickhouse had lived in Virginia before recently moving back to the area.
Brickhouse leaves behind a husband, Kevon Brickhouse, and three children.
“Her dear friend, Nicole “Bea” Curtis passed away with her at her side,” reads her obituary.
Brickhouse graduated from Springfield South High School in 1998 and attended Clark State Community College and Tidewater Community College. She was formerly with Bank of America and currently was employed with Anthem. Visitation: Saturday, 2 to 4 p.m. Service: Saturday, 4 p.m. Both at Greater Grace Temple, 380 W. Nicholas P. Cumer, 25
A Pennsylvania graduate student, Nicholas Cumer was in Dayton as part of his internship program with the Maple Tree Cancer Alliance.
Cumer was a dedicated and caring student recognized for his volunteer work, according to a letter by Fr. Malachi Van Tassell, president of Saint Francis University in Loretto, Penn., where Cumer graduated from the Master of Cancer Care program.
He is survived by his parents, Ron and Vicky Grove Cumer; his birth mother, Jennifer Braddock; and his pet Yorkie-poo, Maxie, according to his obituary.

Logan Michael Turner, 30
A 2008 Springboro graduate, Logan Turner had recently turned 30 and was out with friends over the weekend in Dayton’s Oregon District, his mother said.
Danita Turner described her son as “sweet and smart” and “the world’s best son.”
He studied at Sinclair Community College and graduated from the University of Toledo with an engineering degree. He also reportedly attended Wright State University.
He was a “rising star” at Thaler Machine Company in Springboro, where he recently began working as a machinist, according to his obituary. Beatrice “Nicole” Warren-Curtis, 36
A Virginia resident, Beatrice “Nicole” Warren-Curtis “had aspirations to do different things in life, professionally and personally,” said her former supervisor.
She was in Dayton to visit her good friend and former co-worker Brickhouse, who was also killed.
“They were very close,” said Tonya Amos, who supervised them both for a time at a medical insurance company.
“They were just overall good people, and they would do anything for anybody,” Amos said.
Though Warren-Curtis lived in Carrollton, Va., her funeral and burial will be in West Virginia, where the family has roots, the funeral home director said.
