CANstruction returns to Dayton Mall on Oct. 2
CANstruction is back and building on the success of our inaugural year. This year’s friendly competition is bigger than last and promises more elaborate structures.
CANstruction brings teams of local builders, contractors, architects, manufacturers and others together at the Dayton Mall to build structures entirely of canned goods. The cans are then donated to The Foodbank who then distributes it to those in need here in the Miami Valley.
2018’s Peoples’ Choice winner, CESO, Inc., is back to defend their title. They constructed the FortNite Llama last year and promise something even more ambitious this year!
Build Day is set for Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Dayton Mall. Teams have from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to create their structures. Everyone is welcome to watch the sculptures being built.
Nearly 31,000 cans were donated to The Foodbank in 2018. This year, at least 15 teams will strive to donate even more. The goal? 50,000 cans!
Come join the fun at the Dayton Mall, Oct. 2, outside of Macy’s. Sculptures will be on display until Oct. 14, and you can vote on your favorites on the CANstruction Facebook page.
