LANES CLOSING AT BUSY CROSSING
Resurfacing expected to last through end of the month, officials say.
MIAMISBURG — Daytime lane closures are expected to continue through the end of the month around the busy intersection of Ohio 741 and Ohio 725 near the Dayton Mall.
The closures along Ohio 741 will coincide with final asphalt resurfacing as traffic will be maintained and flagged, according to the city of Miamisburg.
The work is among the $5.5 million in Ohio Department of Transportation road construction projects this year along the two state routes in Miamisburg and Miami Twp.
ODOT’s current $3.14 million project on Ohio 741 in the city began earlier this year just north of Ohio 725 around one of the busiest intersections in the Dayton area. The work includes improved storm drainage, pedestrian access, sidewalk installation, traffic signal upgrades and asphalt resurfacing to Bauer Elementary School, according to ODOT.
Traffic signal modifications along the corridor are underway, including a rebuild of the 725/741 signal with mast arms and additional overhead signage, Miamisburg City Engineer Bob Stanley has said.
Concrete curb and sidewalk work was completed last week on the east side of Ohio 741, according to the city. Crews also have completed ADA curb ramp installation and tie-ins at the Mall Woods, Home Depot and Habitat intersections, officials said.
Significant storm drainage, curb, gutter, sidewal, and roadway work on the east lanes was completed earlier this year, Stanley added.
Construction is expected to be complete by the end of the year, according to the city.
Earlier this year ODOT completed a resurfacing on Ohio 741 as part of a $2.48 million project that also included a strip along Ohio 725, records show. That work went from Austin Boulevard to Kingsridge Drive, according to ODOT.
