Long-awaited Round1 Enterainment will open at the Mall at Fairfield Commons today, filling the first of the mall-connected retail spaces vacated when Sears and Elder-Beerman went bankrupt last year.

The new-to-the-area concept is only the second in Ohio and is No. 35 in the U.S. The company was founded in Japan where there are more than 100 locations. Beavercreek’s store will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

“As you see across the state, across the country, a lot of the places in the malls are closing and stores are boarding up,” said Joanna Garcia, vice mayor of Beavercreek. “This is such a great thing to have here in our community and our mall. It keeps people coming to the area and it keeps businesses in the area.”

The more than 51,000-square-foot location has a wide assortment of video and arcade games, bowling, billiards, karaoke and dining. The Beavercreek Round1 has some of the biggest karaoke and private party rooms and also one of the largest bars, said general manager Michael Clarke.

“Beavercreek is an amazing community,” Clarke said. “This kind of traffic from the outside and from the mall, I think it’s going to be beneficial from both sides. The mall’s going to get people that come to see us and end up in the mall and we’re going to get the same thing.”

Bowling costs between $5 and $6.50 per game with dis- counts on a second game, in addition to a $4 shoe rental. Customers also can rent in 90- and 120-minute blocks all week or unlimited time Monday through Thursday.

Karaoke rooms cost between $6 and $65 depending on time and number of people, ranging from one to 5 people. Billiard prices range between $6 and $12.

All-inclusive parties are also available for adults, kids and bowling specific ranging from $22.99 to $30.99 per person for two hours.

“2019 has been a transformative year at the Mall at Fairfield Commons, and we are thrilled to continue our growth with the opening of Round1,” said Leanne Rubosky, general manager at The Mall at Fairfield Commons. “Round1 fits with our mission to provide spaces for the whole family to gather together. We are honored that the Round1 team chose Fairfield Commons.”
