-

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver on Interstate 670 eastbound near downtown early Friday morning.

Columbus police said the male victim had been on I-670 eastbound near the median around 4:45 a.m. Friday.

About the same tim e, Lourdes Cruz Reyes, 35, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on I-670.

The male, who has not yet been identified, then crossed the eastbound lanes of I-670 and was struck by the Tahoe.

Reyes stopped at the scene and called 911, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the 75th traffic fatality in Columbus in 2019. The crash remains under investigation.

A man has been indicted on involuntary manslaugh- ter and other charges after his 2-year-old daughter was fatally shot at home.

In a 911 call about the Dec. 14 shooting, the girl’s mother said Noelle Massuros was accidentally shot by her 6-year-old brother, who had found a gun that was left out at their Pataskala home. The woman told the dispatcher that her husband, Jason Massuros, left loaded guns in the house.

He was indicted on felony charges of involuntary manslaughter, endangering children and obstructing official business, according to Licking County court records.

Massuros, 41, is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday, according to court records. He was initially held on a $500,000 bond.

Police said then that they hadn’t identified who shot the girl.

They said that when they responded to the home after the shooting, Massuros had barricaded himself there with a firearm. He was arrested after several hours of negotiations with police.

A date has been set for a man accused of stabbing his stepfather to death in August.

James Franklin Wilson was suspected of the stabbing death of his stepfather, Harold Taylor, 52, on Aug. 21 after the two got into a fight in the middle of a street near Taylor’s home.

Taylor was found lying in the street bleeding and Wilson fled the scene.

Wilson was arrested for murder and tampering with evidence. The dates of Feb. 3, 4 and 5 have been set aside for trial.

A family member said Taylor “had problems for years” with his stepson and they had arguments before, including a fight a week before the stabbing when Wilson allegedly “stomped” Taylor in the ribs. — FROM WIRE REPORTS
