- By Karina Brady 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs

Where can you read the latest Wright-Patterson Air Force Base news, sign up for the Air Force Marathon, check the weather or view the base theater’s movie showings all in one location? With just a few clicks, the Air Force Connect app can help you accomplish these tasks and many more.

Earlier this year, the Air Force launched its official mobile app, AF Connect. On the app, military and civilian personnel, along with their families and friends, can access a host of information relevant to their careers and lives.

Users can find information ranging from Air Force instructions to the upcoming locations of food trucks.

The app is free and available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Users can search “USAF Connect” and tap “Install” to download the application.

Once on the app, Airmen can customize their app experience using the “Favorites” portal. In the portal (located in the bottom right-hand corner), users have the option to add their organization to view local information. More than 200 wings and agencies are available, including the 88th Air Base Wing and Air Force

Materiel Command.

Some of the app’s most notable capabilities are as follows:

■ Push notifications

■ News

■ Base directory

■ Checklists

■ Groups

■ Events calendar

■ Physical Fitness Test calculator

The app also offers a beta version of mobile common access card access. To visit CAC-enabled websites through AF Connect, users must purchase a Thursby PKard Reader - preferably, one that includes a Sub Rosa software license. This software functions on iOS and Android.
