Foodbank Dayton grant
The Foodbank Dayton recently announced a $10,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to help alleviate hunger in Dayton. This donation will enable The Foodbank to serve more people this holiday season. They are one of four food banks in Ohio receiving this donation, with the other three being the Greater Cleveland Foodbank, the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and Freestore Food Bank. According to Feeding America, 90,600 residents of Montgomery County are food insecure.
“Helping individuals and families get access to basic nutritional foods is critical in order for them to start the day on the right foot,” said Jeneen Marziani, Bank of America Ohio Market President. “We’re honored to support The Foodbank Dayton to help enable individuals and families to build better lives.”
The mission of The Foodbank is to relieve hunger in the community through a network of partner agencies by acquiring and distributing food. Food and related supplies are distributed to local pantries, community kitchens, shelters and other charitable programs, all of which support the health and development of food insecure individuals.
The Foodbank Dayton is one of 72 Feeding America food banks in the country that received a core operating grant, funded by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. For nearly a decade, the Feeding America network and Bank of America have partnered on initiatives that help end hunger and create economic mobility for our communities.
