Tom Holland Spider-Man: Homecoming 8PMon (6) (9) (22) Movie: Spider-Man: Homecoming He first played Peter Parker and his superhero alter-ego SpiderMan a year earlier in “Captain America: Civil War,” but this 2017 action-adventure film wiped out any lingering doubts as to whether British actor Tom Holland was up to claiming the main spotlight as the webbed one, earning glowing reviews and driving his movie to become the fifth highest-grossing film of its year and the second most successful Spider-Man movie ever. In a new episode, Heavy D dispatches Diesel Dave and The Muscle to undertake a late-night mission to his overflow lot. They’re not crazy about the idea, but they reluctantly agree. Ultimately, they reminisce about all the builds and old parts they’ve stumbled across while trying to complete their mission.

TUESDAY

Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2020 8PMon (2) (4) (5) A Toast to 2019! Most people probably would agree with the suggestion that 2019 was a pretty intense year, especially in terms of political developments, but thankfully “Today” co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager employ a light touch as they page through the year’s headlines in this new two-hour year-end special. Expect moments of undeniable poignancy, mixed with exhilarating stories of triumph (see: gymnast Simone Biles, among others). There also will be plenty of laughs, courtesy of such celebrity guests as Kristen Bell. 8PMon (6) (9) (22) Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2020 Lucy Hale, who previously hosted coverage of New Orleans festivities during this special, gets an upgrade this year to co-host from the plum Times Square location with host Ryan Seacrest, who returns for his 15th year in this gig. Billy Porter picks up the Big Easy coverage from Hale. Ciara returns for her third time to anchor those events from Los Angeles.

WEDNESDAY

Jo Frost Supernanny 8PMon (BBCA) Doctor Who “Doctor Who” fans have been waiting for a year for their favorite series to return, but executive producer and showrunner Chris Chibnall promises them that their patience will be rewarded by “Skyfall,” the first of a two-part Season 12 premiere. In fact, Chibnall says, this could be the biggest “Doctor Who” ever, in terms of the sheer scope of the production and international locations used. What else? Cybermen, lots of them, all deadlier than ever. Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole star. Professional nanny Jo Frost returns in a reboot of the hit show in which she starred for seven seasons on ABC, bringing her 30 years of expertise in childcare to modern families. Since the show’s initial 200511 run, parents face a host of new and different societal and behavioral changes, so in these 20 new episodes, Frost offers them hope and relief with her advice and techniques to restore calm to a chaotic household.

THURSDAY

Stephen Dorff Deputy 9PMon (2) (4) (5) The Paley Center Salutes Law & Order: SVU With its current season — the show’s 21st — “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” has become the longestrunning primetime live-action series in television history, which certainly merits a celebratory special like this one-hour presentation. Series creator and executive producer Dick Wolf joins cast members Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Kelli Giddish and Peter Scanavino to reflect on this milestone. When the sheriff of Los Angeles County dies, a legal quirk dating back to the days of the Old West thrusts into the job an unlikely successor: Bill Hollister (Stephen Dorff), a fifth-generation lawman who’s perfectly at ease taking down bad guys, but woefully ill-suited to navigating the complex politics of his Southern California turf. Writer and executive producer Will Beall (“Aquaman”) penned the pilot for this new police drama mixed with Wild West spirit.

FRIDAY

Perdita Weeks Hawaii Five-0 8PMon (7) (10) (12) Hawaii Five-0 A crossover storyline that concludes on “Magnum P.I.” begins in the new “Ihea ’oe i ka wa a ka ua e loku ana?,” a Hawaiian phrase meaning, “Where Were You When the Rain Was Pouring?.” National security is threatened by the theft of a classified document that contains the names of several undercover CIA agents, so Steve (Alex O’Loughlin) and his Five-0 team enlist the help of Magnum, Higgins, Rick and TC (guest stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill) to retrieve it. This docu-series returns for its sophomore season, taking a deeper exploration of some truly unusual real-life relationships, real people who find themselves in extraordinary circumstances. Nevertheless, the stories that emerge from these situations usually turn out to be strongly relatable, even though they involve people who exhibit surprising relationship preferences.

SATURDAY

The brides will attend a private shopping event at the wedding salon Kleinfeld Bridal, where they’ll be given a wedding gown, selected with the assistance of a Kleinfeld consultant. SUNDAY

Ricky Gervais The 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards 8PMon (2) (4) (5) The 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards Ricky Gervais, who has a fondness for cracking jaw-dropping, take-noprisoners jokes at the expense of the rich and famous, returns for his fifth stint as host of this year’s ceremony. Among nominees, it was a good year for streaming services: Netflix leads the pack with a combined total of 17 film and TV nods, while the recently launched Apple TV Plus picked up its first Globe nominations for “The Morning Show.” Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) stumbles across a new clue to who is behind the God Account when Joy (Jessica Lu) points out what may not be a coincidence: All Miles’ friend suggestions have been clients of the same insurance company. So is the newest one, Abe (guest star Judd Hirsch), a Holocaust survivor desperate to find information about the fate of his long-lost sister, in the new episode “A New Hope.” Aaron Yoo and Lynn Cohen guest star.
