Office Depot closing Salem store next month

A store closing sale is underway at the Office Depot location at the Consumer Square Shopping Center ahead of the store’s closure next month.

The store, 5425 Salem Ave., will close March 21, store officials said when reached Tuesday.

“Office Depot, Inc. continuously optimizes its retail footprint, and, as a result, the company is closing it’s Office Depot store,” Shera Bishop, spokeswoman for Office Depot said.

It was not immediately clear if the employees of the store would be losing their jobs or offered positions at other Office Depot stores.
