Police art gallery
The Centerville Arts Commission announced Ginny Baughman as the February feature in the Art Gallery at the Centerville Police Department, 155 West Spring Valley Road. The exhibit may be viewed 24 hours a day.
Baughman has devoted her life to creating, teaching and learning about art. Her inspiration comes from her life as a woman, wife, mother, student and teacher. Born and raised in Dayton, she earned a BFA from the University of Dayton and an MA in Art Education from The Ohio State University.
Baughman has been a teaching artist for more than 20 years and a freelance artist for 25. Her shift focused to contemporary art in the last decade. Her contemporary artwork is content-based and she uses a variety of media. This includes 3D paintings, paper sculptures, found object sculptures, installations and chalk art.
