WRIGHT STATE AT NORTHERN KENTUCKY: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TODAY’S GAME

■ The Raiders are coming off an 81-74 overtime win at Cleveland State, but hometown players are making it tough on them. Trotwood-Madison grad Torrey Patton had 21 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. Two days earlier, Wayne product Darius Quisenberry had 41 points to lead Youngstown State to an 88-70 upset . ... To combat some of the rebounding issues of late, Nagy went with a bigger lineup against the Vikings, playing 6-9 redshirt freshman Grant Basile 20 minutes, mostly at power forward. That’s the most action he’s had since playing 22 minutes against CSU on Jan. 16. He had six points and four rebounds . ... Bracketmatrix. com, which compiles the NCAA tourney projections from more than 100 sources, has the Raiders with an average seed of 14.65. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has them as a 15 this week (60th out of 68 teams overall). But they probably can move up to a 14 with a strong finishing kick.

■ Record watch: Gentry is 157 of 179 on free throws in his career, and his 87.7 percentage is currently second best in team history. Jesse Deister (2000-02) is first at 89.0, while Andy Holderman (1990-94) is at 86.9 and Troy Tabler (2007-11) 85.9.

■ Love has 859 career rebounds, second on the Raiders’ all-time list behind Bill Edwards (1989-93), who had 907.

■ About Northern Kentucky: The Norse have the league’s second-best NET ranking at 150th (the Raiders are 126th). They looked is if they would fade from the conference race after suffering a 30-point home loss to UIC on Feb. 16. But the injury-plagued Walton played just 19 minutes that game, scoring two points. NKU came alive during their Northeast Ohio swing last week, beating Youngstown State and Cleveland State. Walton led the team in scoring both games with 22 and 20 . ... They’ve been in the league just five years but can earn a share of their second straight conference regular-season title with a victory. They won the league tourney in 2017 and 2019.
