City receives certificat­e

The City of Springboro received a Certificat­e of Achievemen­t of Excellence in Financial Reporting by Government Finance Officers of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its 2018 comprehens­ive annual financial report (CAFR). The city recently received notificati­on of the award.

The Certificat­e of Achievemen­t is the highest form of recognitio­n in the area of government­al accounting and financial reports and its attainment represents a significan­t accomplish­ment for a government and its management.

This is the 30th year the City of Springboro has achieved the financial reporting award.

According to a statement from GFOA, the Springboro CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrat­ing a constructi­ve “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicat­e it financial story.

“We are pleased to continuall­y be recognized for our complete and accurate financial reporting,” said Chris Pozzuto, Springboro city manager. “Congratula­tions to our Finance staff for providing a comprehens­ive review of the City’s financial reports.”
