Where to get and give help
Seeking help or wanting to give help in these unprecedented times? Here are a list of places in the Miami Valley to get and give help during the coronavirus pandemic. You can find more at Dayton.com:
House of Bread Dayton
Located on Orth Avenue, House of Bread remains open to serve the public. Due to concerns around the coronavirus, the House of Bread can only serve 50 adults in their dining room and 20 children and parents in the family dining room at one time.
“There may be a wait outside our doors as we go through this difficult time,” House of Bread’s website said.
To reach the House of Bread via telephone, call (937) 226-1520.
Cake, Hope and Love
A Beavercreek bakery, Cake, Hope and Love, has been making sack lunches for families while schools are closed.
Although the bakery has reached capacity for making additional lunches, they are seeking volunteers to help with packing or delivering lunches. Anyone already on the list will continue to get lunches.
To volunteer email daytonfreelunch@gmail.com or call (937) 912-9253.

To reach With God’s Grace, check their Facebook page or call (937) 397-4124.
Good Neighbor House
Good Neighbor House’s food pantry is open Monday through Friday.
There are instructions on the door to call upon arrival and food will be delivered in the back.
They will also take emergency dental appointments Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Monetary donations are best, said Sarina Tacovic with the food pantry, because Good Neighbor House is having to purchase three times more food than they normally do. Donations of sanitizing wipes and sprays will also be accepted.
For more information or to learn more about how to help, email Tacovic at development@goodneighborhouse.org.
Springboro Community Assistance Center
Springboro Community Assistance Center (SCAC) is working with the Springboro Community City School District and City of Springboro to serve families and students while the schools are closed for the next three weeks.
Starting this week, SCAC changed from its twicemonthly choice pantry to providing boxes of food to families at three different locations in the city:
■ Mondays from 3 to 5 p.m. outside the SCAC facility in the Educare building next to Springboro Junior High School, 1605 Main St. Both perishable items and boxes of food will be distributed at this location.
■ Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. outside Springboro First United Methodist Church, 60 E. North St. Boxes of food only.
■ Fridays from 6 to 7 p.m. outside the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 125 E. Central Ave. Food boxes only.
All residents are required to show proof of residency in the Springboro School District and may only receive one box per week, said Wendy Ford, SCAC Executive Director.
In order to limit person-to-person contact, residents picking up food are asked to stay in their car and drive to the designated area. At the designated area, one person should leave the car and get the box of food.
Each box should last one week, Ford said.
Residents with unusual circumstances that keep them from visiting one of the sites, should call the SCAC at (937) 572-6488.
