Finding a local farmers market

Where and when to find them (and what’s different this year).

- By Ashley Moor Staff Writer

Along with heading to the nearest public pool or ice cream parlor, summertime doesn’t feel quite as sweet without a trip to the local farmers market. Strolling the lanes of fresh produce, baked goods and other local offerings now feels like a summer mustdo. And, fortunately, due to the nature of the markets, many are still able to remain open during the summer months without posing a health risk to customers in the age of the coronavirus.

From the popular 2nd Street Market to the Miami County Virtual Farmers Market, there are options for every kind of customer across the Miami Valley — whether you’re ready to venture outside to buy fresh produce or you’d rather do a virtual form of this summertime tradition.

Here is a sampling of farmers’ markets open and welcoming customers across the Miami Valley, and how policies have changed this season.

If your market is now open or opening soon, please send the details to Ashley.Moor@coxinc.com to be included in our online guide to farmers markets this summer.
