Help sought to ID credit card thieves

-

The Kettering Police Department is asking for the public’s health in identifying a woman suspected of using stolen credit cards and another pair suspected of stealing an elderly woman’s purse and using her credit card.

According to Kettering police, the first woman used or tried to use stolen cards at multiple locations. Cameras captured photos of distinctive tattoos on her arm and photos can be seen at DaytonDailyNews.com.

Police asked anyone who recognizes the woman to contact Lt. Brad Lambert at 937-296-2410.

The pair, meanwhile, reportedly stole the purse on Aug. 8, according to police. Police said that they then used the credit card at Kroger on Smithville Road and at the Fairfield Commons Mall, and may have then left in a green 90s Chevrolet Suburban.

Anyone with information about these two is asked to call Kettering police at 937296-2555 and ask for detective Dave Marcum. Dayton police Lt. Jason Hall said earlier. “This altercation escalated into a physical fight and unfortunately gunfire, resulting in the death of the victim.”

Thompson was arrested Thursday afternoon, and 20-year-old Tod’janaye Smith, the woman who was with him, was taken in for questioning in the case, police said.

On Wednesday Dayton police posted images of Smith and Thompson, who they believed to be together, on their Twitter account in hopes that someone would report their whereabouts.

Police did not say how they found the pair, but the department thanked the public for their assistance in its latest Tweet.

Thompson is facing two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of having a weapon under disability for a prior drug or violence conviction.
