Council tomeet Auditionsupcoming
SpringboroCityCouncil is meeting on Thursday at CityHall, 320 W. Central Ave.
The council meets inwork session at 6 p.m. and in formal session at 7 p.m.
The council is to hear the second reading of a change in city ordinances on the surcharge for tap-in fees and water usage for water and sewer charges to outof-city customers.
Staff wants flexibility in the amount of the charges under certain circumstances. Currently out-of city customers pay double the rates paid by city customers. The new rates are expected to be used for residents of the Woodgrove subdivision just south of city limits in Clearcreek Twp.
Also, the council is expected to give the city manager authority to negotiate the elimination of the cross-collateralization requirements in the agreement withMontgomery County Transportation Improvement District, Miamisburg and Miami Twp. for Austin Center development, simplify or eliminate provisions of the agreement that are no longer necessary and allowfor local governments to negotiate school revenue-sharing agreementswith the Miamisburg Schools. So far, Springborohasbeenunable tosee through a development on land in the city limits on the southwest corner of the Austin Boulevard interchange.
Also, the Springboro Planning Commission will conduct itsWednesday, Sept. 30, meeting via Zoom video conference starting at 6 p.m. In lieu of guest comments during the meeting, the public may submit comments to ann.burns@cityofspringboro.com until 12 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in order for the commission to review prior to the meeting. The meeting is open to the public to observe at www.zoom.us.

Auditions for this year’s production of are coming up in September andOctober at the Countryside YMCA.
Auditions for “Stories Under the Big Top” will be held Sept. 27 from 2:30 – 4 p.m. and Oct. 1 from 6:30 -8 p.m.
Every childwho auditions will be cast in the showas long as they canreadandmemorize the script.
Auditions are open to youth ages 7 to 18. Youth auditioning should prepare a short memorized piece (song, poem, story, monologue) or be able to read a sample froma scriptwe provide.
The final production will be in late January or early February 2021.
