Getting money back for a towing ticket?

-

A gentleman contacted the Ombudsman for assistance with a towing incident in one of our townships.

He received a ticket, about which he went to court.

He was informed he could have the towing charges reimbursed, and that he would receive paperwork to process his refund.

He has been waiting for three months, and has not received any paperwork so he decided to contact the Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman contacted a representative of the Montgomery County Sheriff 's office.

The officer remembered the incident and provided the date when he processed the paperwork through Montgomery County for payment several months ago.

He agreed to follow-up to learn what has happened. He responded a few days later that the county does have the matter in process.

The Ombudsman followed-up with the man and learned that he did receive the paperwork to process a reimbursement for the fees paid.

Within two weeks the man contacted the Ombudsman to report that he received the $103.00 and the matter was concluded.
