Warren Donation honors vets
Charter Communications recently announced a donation of $1,750 to the Joe Barr American Legion Post 194, as part of a special campaign to honor and support veterans organizations across Ohio.
The American Legion in Mason welcomes veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces and provides support for military personnel and their families while serving and when they return.
Charter operates the Spectrum brand of TV, Internet, Mobile and Voice services. The company is committed to building connections with veterans, according to Gary Underwood, group vice president of state government relations for Charter. It partners with schools across its service area each fall to honor veterans.
This year is different, he said, so the company organized a series of charitable contributions to showcase its continued support and gratitude for veterans in the communities it serves rather than its traditional in-person events.
Recycle Christmas lights
Residents in Warren County may recycle Christmas lights instead of throwing them away. The Warren County Solid Waste District, local townships and cities are promoting this environmentally friendly option.
Marked barrels are placed throughout the county for residents to simply drop off their strands of lights thorough February 1. The lights will be processed by Cohen Recycling.
