Charter Review meeting

The 2021 Charter Review Commission will hold its first meeting at 5:30 p.m. today. Due to COVID-19, the meeting will be broadcast live.

Per the City Charter, every five years the Trotwood City Council must appoint a Charter Review Commission. The commission reviews the City Charter and recommends to council any alteration­s, revisions and amendments. Council may submit to the electors any such recommenda­tions at the next regular election in the State of Ohio.

Civil Service Board

The Dayton Civil Service Board will hold its regular meeting on Thursday at 9 a.m. The meeting will not be open to the public, but will be conducted remotely and available to watch live at daytonohio.gov/govtv.

This meeting is being held in accordance with changes to both state and local laws regarding public meetings during a state of emergency. In response to COVID19 and in the interest of public health and welfare, the Ohio legislatur­e passed Amended Sub House Bill 197, which in Section 12(B) allows for public meetings and hearings to be conducted by electronic means.

Citizens interested in making public comments related to calendar items of a remote Civil Service Board meeting are asked to do so in writing. Items related to a calendar item will be included in the meeting minutes.

Comments may be sent to Sheila. Crum@daytonohio.gov. Comments received by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before the scheduled meeting will be included in Communicat­ions for that week. Comments received after that time will be included in the next meeting.

Citizens who wish to make the board aware of an issue not related to the agenda may also do so. These items will be distribute­d to the board for reference.

Submitted comments must follow meeting guidelines and must not contain threatenin­g statements or vulgar language. Any improper comment may result in the comment being determined as out of order. Additional­ly, comments should not be longer than three pages in length.
