Inductees show value of career-tech education
The Miami Valley Career Technology Center held its 2021 Hall of Fame induction ceremony recently and is proud to announce the following winners!
Each of the inductees has demonstrated the perseverance, resilience and dedication to their profession that MVCTC strives to instill in each and every one of our students. It is incredible to see where a career-technical education can take you throughout your life’s journey.
■ Stephanie Moore Beeching, Allied Health 2003, Huber Heights, is a certified nurse practitioner at Suburban Family Practice. Stephanie earned her doctorate of nursing from the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa.
■ Randall Besecker, Farm
Management 1976, Franklin Monroe, is an advanced senior trader with Marathon Petroleum Company. He earned his master’s degree in Finance from The Ohio State University.
■ Carl Bush, Law Enforcement 1976, Trotwood-Madison, is the safety coordinator at MVCTC. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Park University. Carl’s career has included Detective and Sergeant with Trotwood Police Department, part-time Police Academy Instructor at Sinclair Community College and MVCTC, Chief of Police at Yellow Springs Police Department, Captain then Chief of Police at Butler Township Police Department.
■ Trevor Holsinger, Allied Health 2009, Preble Shawnee, is a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Miami Valley Hospital. He earned his master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia from Texas Wesleyan University.
■ Michael Simpson, Criminal Justice 1985, Eaton, is the Preble County Sheriff. Sheriff Simpson was elected to his first full term as Sheriff in November 2004 and is currently in his 34th year of service with this office.
■ Zachariah Thompson, Computer Support Technology 2000, Miamisburg, is the lead program manager for the Advanced Tactical Acquisition Corps at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Wright State University.
■ James Watts, Auto Technology 1990, New Lebanon, is the MVCTC Auto Services Instructor. He has become an ASE certified master technician with an advanced-level engine performance specialist certification.
■ Paula Schwab Wathen, Medical Laboratory 1982, Vandalia-Butler, is the MVCTC medical lab assisting instructor. She obtained a master’s degree in Career Technical Education from Wright State University and was Laboratory Manager at the Kettering Health Network, where she worked for twenty years.
■ Joseph Weaver, Construction Carpentry 2001, Franklin-Monroe, works at Level MB as a construction superintendent. He worked as a carpenter, moved to a Project Supervisor with Ferguson Construction, Project Superintendent with Shook Construction, a career technical education carpentry instructor at Upper Valley Career Center.
■ Lisa Perkins Werbrich, Legal Secretary 1989, Twin Valley South, is an MVCTC english instructor. She earned a master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Dayton.
