CareSource, a nationally recognized nonprofit man- aged care organization, announced recently that Dan McCabe, the Chief of Staff for CareSource and Chief Executive Officer of the CareSource Foundation, plans to retire in January 2022.
As a prominent Dayton figure for almost 30 years, McCabe began with roles at AT&T and NCR Corporation. He was also the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Dayton Power & Light (now AES). He served as the Vice President for the Miami Council of the Boy Scouts of Amer- ica, Board Chair of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees, Co-Chair of the Downtown Dayton Partnership, Chair of the Advisory Council for the University of Dayton’s College of Arts and Sciences, Chair of the Education and Public Improvement Foundation of the Dayton Chamber along with serving on many advi- sory councils and as a mem- ber of the Board of Direc- tors for LJB Inc. This summer, McCabe was inducted into the Dayton Business Hall of Fame.
McCabe joined CareSource in 2012 as Chief Administrative Officer focused on the support and development of the human resources, facilities management, strategic sourcing and marketing and communications functions. He led those functions during a period of significant growth
for the organization. In 2020, McCabe assumed the role of Chief of Staff for CareSource and became CEO of the CareSource Foundation. Since 2006, the CareSource Foundation has awarded more than $25 million to nonprofits that are working to eliminate poverty, provide muchneeded services to low-and moderate-income families, encourage healthy communities, develop innovative approaches to address critical health issues, and enhance the lives of a diverse array of children, adults and families.
“Dan started his career in Dayton working for a legacy corporation with a strong history in the region, and he’s ending his career with a company that’s now defining Dayton’s future. His mark will be everlasting on our community, and we are in a better place thanks to Dan’s generosity of knowledge, service and expertise,” said Chris Kershner, President & CEO, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
