CareSource executive to retire

CareSource, a nationally recognized nonprofit man- aged care organizati­on, announced recently that Dan McCabe, the Chief of Staff for CareSource and Chief Executive Officer of the CareSource Foundation, plans to retire in January 2022.

As a prominent Dayton figure for almost 30 years, McCabe began with roles at AT&T and NCR Corporatio­n. He was also the Senior Vice President and Chief Administra­tive Officer for Dayton Power & Light (now AES). He served as the Vice President for the Miami Council of the Boy Scouts of Amer- ica, Board Chair of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees, Co-Chair of the Downtown Dayton Partnershi­p, Chair of the Advisory Council for the University of Dayton’s College of Arts and Sciences, Chair of the Education and Public Improvemen­t Foundation of the Dayton Chamber along with serving on many advi- sory councils and as a mem- ber of the Board of Direc- tors for LJB Inc. This summer, McCabe was inducted into the Dayton Business Hall of Fame.

McCabe joined CareSource in 2012 as Chief Administra­tive Officer focused on the support and developmen­t of the human resources, facilities management, strategic sourcing and marketing and communicat­ions functions. He led those functions during a period of significan­t growth

for the organizati­on. In 2020, McCabe assumed the role of Chief of Staff for CareSource and became CEO of the CareSource Foundation. Since 2006, the CareSource Foundation has awarded more than $25 million to nonprofits that are working to eliminate poverty, provide muchneeded services to low-and moderate-income families, encourage healthy communitie­s, develop innovative approaches to address critical health issues, and enhance the lives of a diverse array of children, adults and families.

“Dan started his career in Dayton working for a legacy corporatio­n with a strong history in the region, and he’s ending his career with a company that’s now defining Dayton’s future. His mark will be everlastin­g on our community, and we are in a better place thanks to Dan’s generosity of knowledge, service and expertise,” said Chris Kershner, President & CEO, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
