Free Southwest Companion Pass comes with offer

The Southwest Companion Pass is a coveted perk in the world of airline travel.

With it, you can choose one person to fly with you, free of airline charges, every time you purchase or redeem points for a flight with Southwest Airlines. It’s a perk that money expert and travel nut Clark Howard has enjoyed for many years.

Thanks to a new credit card welcome bonus offer from Chase, you could also get this privilege for all your travel with the airline between now and Feb. 28, 2023.

All you have to do is sign up for one of the three Southwest Rapid Rewards credit cards offered by Chase and then meet the spending requirements to claim the reward.

Here’s a quick rundown of Chase’s Companion Pass offer:

Earn a Companion Pass through Feb. 28, 2023, plus 30,000 points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months. With the Companion Pass, you can bring your friend along for free (excludes taxes and fees from $5.60 one-way) on every trip through Feb. 28, 2023. This offer is available to you if you do not have a current Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months. It does not apply to Business Card and Employee Credit Card products. This offer ends March 14, 2022. If you want to take advantage of this deal, you’ll need to sign up before that.
