PNC Bank donates iPads, Apple gift cards to DPS

-

PNC Bank donated 15 iPads and Apple gift cards to Rosa Parks Early Learning Center at the end of April as part of its Grow Up Great program. The $500 million initiative supports early childhood education in an effort to make sure all children, regardless of zip code, are ready for kindergarten. Dave Melin, PNC regional president for Dayton, shared that PNC’s Dayton market is among the leaders in the company in providing technology to preschool students and teachers.

Elizabeth Lolli, superintendent of the Dayton Public Schools, accepted the donation on behalf of the district. Rosa Parks classrooms will use the iPads for various educational programs to enhance their academic experience. DPS accepts preschool

students as young as 3.5 years old. Preschool is a critical time for learning and helps students develop foundational skills that will help them to be successful in kindergarten

and beyond. To make an enrollment appointment for one of the district’s free 5-star preschools, visit www.daytonpublic.com or call 937-542-5555.
