Academic team

Northmont High School’s Academic Challenge team competed in the Ohio Academic Competition state championship tournament at St. Charles Prep School in Columbus last weekend.

The team ended up fourth in the state, their highest finish in the state championship since 2019, when they took third. Northmont’s team was all freshmen and sophomores, including Ryan Fitzgerald, Adam WIlliams, Kevin Adler, Ethan Kral, and Ave Rieger.

The previous Saturday, the team competed in the History Bowl national championship event in Washington, D.C. Northmont posted a 10-0 record in preliminary competition before falling in the playoffs to a pair of teams from Virginia. The team ended up 15th in the country at History Bowl.
