NOVA, 9 PM on Ch. 16 and Ch. 48; 1 AM on Ch. 16 and Ch. 48:
Sir David Attenborough hosts this new two-part special episode on how dinosaurs became extinct. Filmed over the course of three years, the first part, “Dinosaur Apocalypse:
The New Evidence,” follows paleontologist Robert DePalma and his team as they explore a fossil dig site in the Badlands of North Dakota, where their finds include an incredibly rare fossilized egg with the embryo of a flying reptile called a pterosaur still inside. Then, “Dinosaur Apocalypse: The Last Day” shows the team discovering tiny pieces of the deathdealing asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs.
