Toddler reported missing is safe 10 minutes after alert
A toddler reported missing and believed to be in “imminent danger” in his grandfather’s care Wednesday morning was found safe minutes after the alert was issued.
The Trotwood Police Department sent an alert at 9:39 a.m. about the missing 1½-year-old boy. An update at 9:49 a.m. stated the child was found safe.
The child’s grandfather was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of interference with custody, a misdemeanor. He has not been formally charged.
“We believed the child was in imminent danger due to the bank account being drained, no items to care for the child and the cellphone being turned off,” a press release from the department stated.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
