2 girls hurt, dog killed in SUV strike

Two girls were seriously injured and a dog was killed Tuesday night when they were struck by an SUV.

The girls were walking the dog when struck around 8:45 p.m. by a Jeep Cherokee Laredo headed north on Crabill Road near South Pitchin Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Both girls were flown by medical helicopters to a hospital. Their conditions are not known.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
