Alex’s Lemonade Stand gets donation

- STAFF REPORT

The Five Points Elementary Junior Optimist Club has been busy taking on a good cause. This group of students have been hosting fundraisers for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a national organization that raises money for pediatric cancer research.

Earlier this spring, the students had a booth at the Springboro Business Expo and raised over $500. Students also held a building-wide “Penny Wars,” where grade levels competed against one another to raise the most funds. In four days, Five Points Elementary raised $4,100 in the “Penny War.”

All total, the Junior Optimist Club will be making a donation to Alex’s Lemonade Stand in the amount of $4,600.
