Collection­s for Ukraine refugees

Christ Church is collecting emergency and personal goods for Ukrainian refugees.

Donations will be collected through end of May. Collection are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The collection point is the church parking lot, 20 W. First St. Volunteers will meet anyone donating in the parking lot for a transfer.

These goods will then be donated to the Southweste­rn Ohio nonprofit Matthew 25 Ministries for delivery to the countries closest to Ukraine where refugees have fled.

“Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine,” said Terry Murray, who is leading the effort at Christ Church. “We want to do something tangible, that will make a difference, and let Ukrainians know they are not alone.”

Goods should be new, unused and include: personal care products (soap, shampoo, toothbrush­es, etc.), paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), non-perishable food (cans must have pop-tops), first aid supplies (tape, gauze, bandages, etc.)
