MONTGOMERY COUNTY RTA service

- STAFF REPORT

Last month the Greater Dayton RTA announced that people with disabilities and senior citizens who use its door-todoor service can bring a companion for free.

This new program offers people with disabilities and seniors door-to-door service for essential trips such as medical appointments, pharmacy trips, and trips to the grocery store. Customers don’t have to be certified for RTA Connect paratransit service; it is open to all people with disabilities and seniors age 65 and older. To qualify, both individuals must be traveling to and from the same location at the same time and must notify the agency at the time of reservation. This service is offered at $5 for the person with the disability per one way trip, and their companion rides free.

This service is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Trips should be scheduled at least 3 days in advance and are on a space available basis. RTA must be notified of the additional person at the time of the trip reservation. To book a trip, call 937-425-8300.
