Greene Wetlands annual meeting Saturday
The Beaver Creek Wetlands Association will have its annual meeting on Saturday at Bergamo Center, 4400 Shakertown Road. BCWA is celebrating 34 years of care and protection of the habitats within the Beaver Creek Wetland Corridor.
The guest speaker is David FitzSimmons, who will provide a fun-filled presentation of beautiful and bizarre Curious Critters. After a short background on his mesmerizing animal portraiture series, the photographer, author and naturalist will talk about his 20+ children’s books, including “Curious Critters Ohio,” “Curious Critters Backyard Animals,” Curious Critters Raptors,” and “Curious Critters Dogs.” FitzSimmons will talk about the techniques and philosophy behind photographing critters against a white background. Hear stories of animal antics and enjoy behind-the-scenes look at book production.
At 12:30 p.m., Dave Nolin will lead a walk in Mount St. John nature preserve. The walk is optional. At 2 p.m., a short business and information meeting will be held. FitzSimmons’ talk will follow the business meeting. Before the meeting, raffle tickets will be on sale for a variety of gift baskets including books and prints by the author, gardening supplies, art supplies, nature guide books and community business gift cards.
