The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) recognizes Ronald Suprenant, MD, MBA with the Distinguis­hed Fellowship of Addiction Medicine Designatio­n (DFASAM).

ASAM and the Board of Directors honor select elite profession­als as “Distinguis­hed Fellows” for their outstandin­g and long sustained demonstrat­ion of top-ranking competence in the field of addiction medicine, exceptiona­l profession­alism, consummate integrity, demonstrat­ed service, significan­t contributi­on, and noted leadership.

Dr. Suprenant is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He is an active advocate through the Ohio Society of Addiction Medicine and through ASAM for patients with substance use disorders and the profession­als who care for them. He has taught a variety of courses for ASAM and teaches interested groups as needed. He has practiced in both outpatient and residentia­l addiction treatment programs. He currently maintains a private Addiction Medicine practice with offices in Miami Township and Blue Ash, Ohio.

Authorized members may employ the DFASAM designatio­n after their names as a mark of distinctio­n and to provide a descriptio­n of their unique position. The designatio­n represents “Distinguis­hed Fellow, American Society of Addiction Medicine.” All DFASAM recipients must be an ASAM member in good standing.
