- STAFF REPORT

By volunteering at a place less than an hour away from school, students from the Cedarville University School of Nursing have had an impact on people as far away as Ukraine, Guatemala and Thailand.

This semester, Cedarville’s Nursing Honor Society (NHS) has partnered with Caring Partners International (CPI), a medical missions organization based in Franklin. Members of NHS, along with other nursing students, have volunteered with CPI three times this semester. They have visited CPI’s warehouse to sort donations from all over the United States, pack supplies and ensure that medicines sent abroad are not expired.

“Their ministry is evangelism through medicine,” said Rachel Moore, a senior nursing student from Fayetteville, Pa., and the NHS secretary. “They want to go and heal the soul and physical body together, whether through their clinics or by providing other organizations and ministries with supplies.”

CPI uses donations as part of its medical mission trips to locations such as Thailand and Guatemala. CPI also rallies supporters to help those affected by disasters. For instance, they recently sent supplies to support a Samaritan’s Purse field hospital in Ukraine.
