Local students win at animation contest

-

Springboro High School students Jude Hoy and Alex Atallah recently competed at the Business Professionals of America national competition in Dallas, Texas. The senior duo was awarded first place in the computer animation team category at the 2022 National Leadership Conference.

The Springboro team topped 15 other teams from across the United States who had reached the national competition level for computer animation. Hoy and Atallah had to come in first place at the regional level, then state level, before reaching nationals. The award-winning video is entitled, “Coffee Run.” Their prompt was to create an animated parody of a movie. The team chose to parody “The Lego Movie.”

The pinnacle event of the BPA membership year, Business Professionals of America is the nation’s leading career and technical student organization for students pursuing careers in business management, information technology, finance, accounting, office administration, and other business-related career fields.
