Board, commission vacancies

-

Would you like to be more involved with the city. The Huber Heights City Council is accepting applications to fill several board and commission vacancies:

Military and Veterans Commission (1 vacancy) was established to help foster an environment that honors military veterans and recognizes the value of the service they provide.

Personnel Appeals Board (1 vacancy) hears appeals when any officer or employee of the City in nonexempt service is aggrieved by a personnel action by the City administration.

Tax Review Board (2 vacancies) through hearings has the authority to affirm, reverse or modify any assessment, ruling, or decision, or any part thereof, made by the Tax Administrator from which an appeal has been filed as provided in Section 191.19 of the Huber Heights Codified Ordinances. The Tax Review Board is quasi-judicial in nature. Applicants with an interest in or experience with tax-related issues or tax-related expertise are desired.

Applicants must be a resident of Huber Heights and registered to vote. Boards and commissions advise the City Council on issues important to the City of Huber Heights. Most positions do not require extensive expertise, just an eagerness to serve. Applications will be accepted until June 10 and can be picked up at the Huber Heights City Hall or at www.hhoh.org/281/ Board-Commission-Service.
