CONNOR STEVENS Q. What extracurriculars did you participate in?

A. Soccer, wrestling, baseball, football (freshman year)

Q. What does it mean to you to be an Aviator?

A. Being an Aviator is defined by how you represent Butler. For me, I use activities and organizations to give back to the community. I volunteer for my community in the National Honor Society, help my peers through rough times in H.O.P.E. Squad, plan events and spread school spirit.

Q. What was your biggest challenge or obstacle that you overcame?

A. My greatest challenge was earning varsity positions in sports I played after I tore my ACL. I first had to attend seven months of physical therapy. My first sport after rehab was soccer. I attended the practices for both varsity and JV and got additional ball work outside of practices. Even with all

of the practice I had gone through over the season, I didn’t have the skill set necessary to be a starter for varsity, so I played with several teams throughout winter and spring. My senior year I was in the starting lineups for soccer and wrestling and my peers recognized my hard work and nominated

me to become a captain for both teams.

Q. Looking back on your years at VBCSD, what advice would you give younger Aviators?

A. People who are remembered aren’t the people who give into adversity, but those who overcome it.

Q. What is your favorite memory of high school?

A. My favorite memory from high school was being part of the district-wide pep rally my senior year.

Q. What are your plans?

A. Attend Bowling Green State University to become an animator.

Q. What does it mean to you to be an Aviator?

A. To be an Aviator is to always put your best foot forward, have integrity and support one another. It really feels like you are part of a family.

Q. What was your biggest challenge or obstacle that you overcame?

A. Dealing with the pandemic.

Q. Looking back on your years at VBCSD, what advice would you give younger Aviators?

A. The best advice I can think of is to be true to yourself. Never be afraid to stand up for what you believe.

Q. What are your plans?

A. Attend the University of Dayton in the and become a child advocate attorney to stand up for the kids that can’t stand up for themselves.
